Then becoming a member of the Otway Health Board might be just the ticket. Our Health Service is vital to the community in our catchment area and the Board must accurately reflect that community. Board Directors don’t necessarily have to be ‘professional’ people; however they must exercise a commitment to the community. Otway Health needs people on its Board with a wealth of different skills and knowledge that can be utilised.

The Board is responsible for the Governance of Otway Health and vacant positions are effective from 1 July 2018. Appointments will be made by the Governor in Council following a recommendation by the Minister for Health. The Board of Otway Health will submit names of applicants to the Minister for consideration. All positions on the Otway Health Board are held in a voluntary capacity.

Physiotherapist – Grade 2

Part time. Work across Lorne Community Hospital and Otway Health.

A uniquely rewarding role currently exists for a suitably qualified Physiotherapist to work as part of a multidisciplinary team of dedicated health professionals, encompassing aged, community and acute care based in the coastal communities of Lorne, and Apollo Bay.

Reporting to the Integrated Care Manager/Primary Care Team Manager, this role will provide the opportunity to bring high quality physiotherapy services to clients across two communities.

This role is offered on a part-time basis up to full time (negotiable), shared across Lorne Community Hospital and Otway Health.

Position Description & Details

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating effective care plans and treatment;
  • Ensuring the level of service delivery is maintained and actively working to develop services to meet local needs;
  • Liaising with regional allied health professionals.

To be successful in this role, you must have a relevant tertiary qualification, current AHPRA registration as well as experience working with multidisciplinary teams and in program planning, development and evaluation. You’ll be driven and innovative in your approach to your work, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for your clients.

Additionally, you will have excellent communication skills, the capacity to build rapport with a diverse range of patients and a desire to make a difference. The ability to plan and organise your own workload, while working efficiently as part of a team, will also be key to success in this role.

A current driver’s license, National Police check and Working with Children check are essential.

Registered Nurses – RIPERN

Otway Health is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses RIPERN endorsed to join our friendly clinical care team, encompassing Urgent Care, Acute Care, and Residential Aged Care.

The successful candidates will support the existing team to promote and deliver excellence in high quality patient centered care and positive clinical outcomes.

Position Description & Details

Essential:

  • Current Registered Nurse, Division 1 with AHPRA
  • Current Schedule Medicines (Rural and Isolated Practice) Endorsement Registration with AHPRA.
  • Competence in clinical problem solving and effective coordination of patient care at an advanced level
  • Advanced Life Support Certification
  • Highly developed assessment & documentation skills
  • Experience in remote & isolated clinical practice
