About Delivered Meals

Otway Health’s Delivered Meals Program ensures eligible persons have access to delicious, nutritionally balanced, affordable meals.

How it works

Once registered with My Aged Care, a Living at Home Assessment will be carried out by a Regional Assessment Officer where your needs are documented and a Care Plan is developed with you, your family member, or advocate.

Your Care Plan may include the provision of delivered meals. The purpose of our Delivered Meals Program is to ensure that you have been assessed as being nutritionally at risk, or are unable to prepare food for yourself, and that you have access to an affordable balanced diet.

This may be a short term need or an ongoing requirement. From here, arrangements are made to deliver meals to your home.

Meals we offer

Our subsidised Delivered Meals Program can provide you with a hot or cold three course meal – up to six days per week. Each meal consists of:

  • freshly made soup
  • main course
  • dessert

The three course meal you receive is designed to provide you with approximately one third of your recommended daily nutritional needs.

Menus

Menus are rotated every four weeks and you have a choice of two different main meals every day.

Special Requirements

Differing texture and dietary requirements can be accommodated. Please discuss your needs with your Regional Assessment Officer when undergoing your service specific assessment.

Availability

Monday – Saturday including public holidays, except Christmas Day.

If required, we can make arrangements for you to attend Otway Health for a meal on Christmas Day.

Urgent Care is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with a team of medical and nursing professionals able to provide first line treatment and care.
